Scope of the Workshop:

The vision of INUP is to spread expertise and competence in Nanoelectronics and related areas such as micro- and nano systems, smart materials technologies, and to facilitate and support the generation of expertise and knowledge in Nanoelectronics through the utilization of these facilities.

The course will contain various aspects of nanofabrication technologies. Special emphasis will be placed on the facilities available at IISc under INUP for use by external users, and avenues for utilizing these.


IISc faculty and staff will deliver the lectures.

Those who are already familiar with microsystems technology but want to know more about the state-of-the-art research and practice pertaining to micromachined accelerometers and gyroscopes. Faculty and students are also welcome. Researchers from Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and other government organization and industries involved in sensor technologies will benefit from the lectures and interaction with the speakers.

The workshop is meant for the academic faculty of recognized Universities and engineering colleges and for Postgraduate researchers working in the areas of Nanoelectronics, Microsystems, smart materials technologies, and related areas only (Undergraduates are not eligible to attend the workshop). Selected participants will be paid TA at actuals, subject to the limit of Three-tier AC train/bus (for students) and Two-tier AC train/bus(for faculty) fare by the shortest route from the place of work to Bangalore and back.

Each participant will also be paid a consolidated sum of Rs.200/- (for students) and Rs. 300 (for faculty) towards other travel-related expenses. They will be provided with accommodation subject to availability.

Short-listing of participants will be made based on their expressed interest in participating in future programmes organized by INUP and/or based on their current research interests. Requests without a Statement of Purpose will not be considered.

Additional seats may be available for self-supported participants from government and private Utility Companies, R&D Organizations, Industries, and others interested in this course. No travel support will be provided in this case.
